Shane Vande Voort
- Shane is the owner of Classic Aviation, Inc.
as well as a CFII, MEI, A&P, IA, and an ATP rated pilot with a type
rating for the Cessna Citation 650 series, the Bombardier Learjet
40/45 series, the Hawker/Beechcraft BE400 and the Hawker/Beechcraft
RA-390 Premier. In November 2008, he received renewal of his Master CFI
accreditation from the National Association of Flight Instructors
(NAFI). Shane has been a Master CFI since November 2006. Shane also
became a designated Pilot Examiner for the Des Moines FSDO in
November 2008. In 2010, he was awarded the Flight Instructor of the
Year and Safety Representative of the Year Awards by the Des Moines
FSDO. Shane provides pilot service, flight instruction, and maintenance for
Classic Aviation, Inc. He also represents the City of Pella as
the Airport Manager and has been appointed as an FAA Aviation Safety
Counselor. He is a member of the Cirrus Standardized Instructor
Program® and serves as the chief
Flight Instructor for Classic Aviation's Cirrus Authorized Training
Center®. Shane has completed
numerous training courses at FAR § 142 Simulator Training Centers.
Shane holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation
Maintenance Technology from Indian Hills Community College and is a
long time resident of the Pella area.
Shane, his wife Megan, and son reside in Pella.
Megan is an elementary special
education teacher. Megan uses her interest in photography to capture
the fun and excitement at Classic Aviation. Her photography,
including air-to-air photos can be seen all over the Classic
Aviation website.

Brian Teachout
- Brian is a full time A&P and holds an Associate
of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from
Indian Hills Community College. He has completed the Cirrus Design
AvMx Maintenance Training course and the Cirrus Composite Repair Lab
at the factory in Duluth, MN. Brian
is Classic Aviation's expert painter and has completed PPG certified
technician training. Brian, his wife and daughter live on an acreage
in the Pella area.

Haven Hick
- Haven is a full-time A&P mechanic and holds an
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance
Technology from Indian Hills Community College. He has extensive
turbo-jet and turbo- prop maintenance experience and has worked on
turbo-jet aircraft in a factory service center. Haven has completed
initial maintenance training on the Cessna Citation 560 series
aircraft and has also completed the Cirrus Design AvMx Maintenance
Training course and the Cirrus Perspective by Garmin Line
Maintenance Training. Additionally, Haven spent a week in Mobile, Alabama
completing the Teledyne Continental Motors Aviation
Technician Advanced Training Program. He recently completed a half
marathon to raise funds for Leukemia research. Haven, his wife, and
three sons reside in Prairie City, IA.

Trevor Nikkel
- Trevor is a full-time A&P mechanic and holds an
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology
from Indian Hills Community College. He has completed the Cirrus
Design AvMx Maintenance Training course. Trevor holds his Commercial Pilot Certificate
with an Instrument Rating and tailwheel endorsement. He has
completed the Cirrus transition training in the SR20 and SR22
models. Trevor's eye for detail in the shop make him a valuable
asset to Classic's maintenance team and his versatility as a pilot
allows him to provide mobile maintenance and professional pilot
service for Classic Aviation. Trevor and his wife reside in Sully.

Larry Vande Voort
- Larry is a flight instructor and facilities support specialist
providing primary, advanced, and tailwheel instruction at Classic
Aviation, Inc. Larry's experience with tailwheel aircraft as well
as multi-engine and turbine aircraft make him a versatile flight
instructor. Larry is available full-time to help you achieve your
training goals.

Carolyn Vande Voort
- Carolyn is a full-time customer service
and office support specialist. Carolyn's smile at the front desk or
voice on the phone is most likely how you will be greeted at classic
Aviation. Carolyn resides in Sully, IA and
is happy to be able to work around family at Classic Aviation.

Jeff Bollard
- Jeff works for ITAA Services, L.L.C. providing information
technology services to local businesses and aviation services
through Classic Aviation. Jeff's company leases a Beech
Duchess to Classic so that they can provide multi-engine training. Jeff provides part-time flight instruction
as well as part-time pilot service. He has completed the instructor
training requirements and provides Cirrus Standardized Instruction
under Classic Aviation's Cirrus Training Center.

Jeff Uitermarkt
- Jeff has completed the instructor training
requirements and provides Cirrus Standardized Instruction under
Classic Aviation's Cirrus Training Center. He also provides CFII and
Commercial Pilot Services and holds an Associate of Applied Science
in Aviation Flight Training from Indian Hills. Jeff has completed
initial training and holds a second-in-command type rating in the
Hawker/Beechcraft BE400. Jeff's specialties
are providing pilot service for corporate customers in Cirrus as
well as turbine aircraft and helping Classic Aviation customers get
the most out of their Technologically Advance Aircraft by training
them in the real world cross-country environment. Jeff, his wife
Tricia and their infant son live near Lake Red Rock in the Pella
area.

Joel Buseman
- Joel is a Falcon 10 / Lear 45 captain in
Classic Aviation's aircraft management/ pilot service area of operations. Joel is originally from Belmond, IA and and graduate of Central College in
Pella. Joel and his wife Anna currently live in Norwalk where she is in a teaching position. Joel received his instrument and commercial flight training
at Classic Aviation and worked as a flight instructor here before working as a airline and corporate pilot. Joel holds and ATP with type ratings in the
Canadair CRJ, Dassault Falcon 10 and 20, the Bombardier LR45 and
the Hawker/Beechcraft BE400 as well as a flight instructor certificate with
Instrument and Multi-engine ratings.

Kendall Arkema
- Kendall is a full-time flight instructor at
Classic Aviation. Kendall first started taking lessons with Classic
Aviation at the age of seventeen. He then went to Indian Hills to
earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Flight
Training. Kendall can provide primary, instrument and commercial
training. He is currently working toward his multi-engine rating and
Cirrus Transition Training. |

David Olsthoorn
- David is a part-time ramp service and
airport maintenance specialist. David is a graduate of Pella
Christian High School.

Jon Erickson
- Jon manages Classic's website from Edina, MN.
Jon received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Flight Operations
from the University of Dubuque in 2008. He holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate
with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings. Jon maintains his
Flight Instructor Certificate and Instrument Instructor rating. Jon
currently works for Regional Elite Airline Services as a Customer Service Agent
at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.
