Pella is a
small town with a rich and vibrant heritage. In Dutch "Pella"
means city of refuge. Pella was the city of refuge for a handful
of Dutch immigrants during the mid-1800's who settled the midwest
grass lands for religious freedom. Today Pella is a well-known Iowa
town. Come and see Pella and its many sites and attractions. During
the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of May Pella hosts its
